Design & Inspiration

  • Stroud Water Center/EnviroDIY.org: Expansive resource on DIY sensor programming. Forum for Q&A, blog posts for ideas, creators of the ModularSensors code library that runs on our gauge stations, and creators of the Mayfly data logger used in our gauge stations (More docs).
  • Open-storm.org: Folks at University of Michigan doing similar things at a large scale. Good resource for inspiration, engineering, and logistics.
  • Cave Pearl Project: One extremely techy researcher’s quest to create a submersible data logger for long-term deployment (in caves!). Most of this content is focused on high-effort builds with minimal power consumption without real-time data logging, but it has good designs for water level loggers that use pressure transducers.
