Dissolved Oxygen

Atlas Scientific dissolved oxygen (DO) probes are galvanic probes that utlize a membrane. When removing the cap for the probe, be sure to pull (and not twist) the cap off.

  1. Open the Atlas Scientific DO EZO calibration documentation to follow along
  2. Remove the cap of the DO probe and place on the counter
  3. Type r (without quotes) into the serial monitor and press enter to prompt the probe to collect a reading. The words Success and 2 values should appear in the serial monitor. Continuously repeat this for 5-30 seconds until values stabilize.
  4. Type cal into the serial monitor, and press enter. This calibrates the probe to full DO saturation using the air

Two-point calibration (for readings < 1 mg/L)

  1. Place DO probe in the Zero DO calibration solution and stir the probe to remove trapped air. Wait between 30 and 90 seconds while typing r and pressing enter continuously.
  2. Once values stabilize, type cal,0 and press enter. Values from the probe (using the r command) should now show zero.
